MacroMotion - Privacy Policy

Effective date: 26 June 2026

In short: MacroMotion does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data. There are no accounts, no analytics, no tracking, and no advertising. Everything you create stays on your own Mac.

MacroMotion is a native macOS application for designing picture-in-picture (DVE / SuperSource) animations for Blackmagic ATEM switchers and exporting them as macros. This policy explains how the app handles information. It applies to both editions of the app: the file-export edition and the direct-upload edition.

Information we collect

None. MacroMotion does not collect or receive any personal information about you. We have no servers that receive your data, no user accounts, and no sign-in. We do not use analytics, crash-reporting, advertising, or tracking technologies of any kind, and the app contains no third-party tracking SDKs.

Information stored on your device

Your work, meaning the animations, presets and settings you create, is stored locally on your Mac (in the app's local storage and in any macro or project files you choose to save). This information never leaves your device through the app, is not transmitted to us or to anyone else, and is under your control: you can delete it at any time using the app or the Finder.

Network access

Third parties

MacroMotion does not share data with third parties, because it does not collect any. The app uses the Blackmagic ATEM SDK (installed on your Mac as part of Blackmagic's ATEM Software Control) solely to communicate with your switcher on your local network; it does not send your information to Blackmagic Design or anyone else.

Children's privacy

MacroMotion is a professional video-production tool and is not directed at children. Because it collects no personal information from anyone, it collects none from children.

Data security

Because your data stays on your own device and is never transmitted to us, there is no personal data held by us that could be exposed. Protecting the files on your Mac is handled by macOS and your own security practices.

Your rights

Privacy regulations such as the UK GDPR, EU GDPR, and CCPA give you rights to access, correct, or delete personal data a company holds about you. We hold no personal data about you, so there is nothing for us to provide or delete. Any data created in the app is already in your sole possession on your device.
